Trying to choose a good web hosting company for your blog can be quite tricky, especially with all the options available in the market. While some are more affordable while others have better security. This blog post is to help you choose the right web hosting company for your blog so that you achieve your goals with fewer bumps in the way. In this article, we have picked the best web hosting companies and compared their features so that you can choose the one according to your requirements.

What Makes A Good Web Hosting Company

Uptime and Site Speed Web Hosting

Your website’s uptime determines your website authenticity. If the web hosting is not providing good uptime for your website, you should consider switching to something more reliable. The web hosting company should take necessary measures to keep the uptime above 95% at all times. Also, a lot depends on how quick your website pulls up on the browser. If your website is taking forever to pull up you will not get as much traffic and your website performance decreases. Good web hosting increases website uploading speed and smooth functionality.

Customer Support with Web Hosting

When you are using a web hosting company you are bound to face technical issues that you cannot solve yourself. Good customer support can help resolve your issues so you can concentrate on content creation. They should have chat, email and phone customer service options so you can reach them however you feel comfortable with. Also the response rate and ticket solving ability should be fast. You shouldn’t have to wait for days to get your resolution.

Adequate tools for web hosting

Any web hosting company should have adequate resources online and on their website to manage your website. While most web hosting companies provide free site management with higher plans, for the smaller starter plans you need to do it yourself.

Security and Backup services from your Web Host

Your data security is essential for any website. A web hosting company should be taking proactive steps to keep their customers data safe. There should be a system to remove malware. They should have SFTP and SSL enabled for free. SFTP stands for Secure File Transfer Protocol, and it adds an extra layer of security to your files. SSL creates a secure connection between the browser and the web server.

Most reputable web hosting companies take a backup of your website once a day so that if your website were to be hacked it could be restored with the most recent backup.

Check out the Unlimited Plans

Unlimited services at cheapest rates is what makes a web hosting company the best thing. Whether it is storage, emails, bandwidth, or something else, unlimited plans do not have caps which makes your experience much more smoother. Comparing all the free and unlimited features provided under the cheapest plan can help you determine which web hosting will be the best for you.

How To Choose The Right Web Hosting

Do You Need a Lot of Bandwidth for your website?

If you are migrating your website that has a high web traffic, you should consider a web hosting that provides larger bandwidth. Bandwidth is one of the most important factors that affects the efficiency of high-traffic websites. The amount of data that can be transferred or downloaded from a website is referred to as bandwidth. Be aware that many unscrupulous hosting companies will offer a lower priced hosting options, but once you move your site over your site speed is throttled or your site is constantly down. Generally speaking if you have more than 25,000 visitors a month, you cannot rely on the cheapest level of hosting from most companies.

How many email addresses do you need?

If you have multiple people working under your business, each individual needs an email address under the website. Web hosting that offers the maximum number of email under a price point should be your main concern in such a case. If you do not care about email addresses under the website, then you may choose not to give this feature as much thought.

How much Web storage do you need?

If you are a beginner you probably shouldn’t need as much disk storage. However, if you are already an established brand, you are migrating your well established website from one web host to another. It is best to consider the disk space.

A Good backup policy?

Well, everyone needs a good backup policy. You can’t afford to lose your data even for a single day. If your website comes under attack for some reason and all your data is wiped off, a backup can still save you from major disaster.

I started with Fatcow and then moved to A2. I stopped hosting sites, but Fatcow and A2 are pretty solid for uptime and a support perspective.
